BOBST and partners hold Sétif roadshow to discuss packaging efficiency and sustainability

BOBST and five technology partners brought together Algeria’s flexible packaging, label production and converting sectors in Sétif on September 29 for a roadshow examining production technologies, market requirements and sustainability.

The BOBST & Leading Partners Roadshow 2026 — Algeria was held under the theme “Shaping the Future of Sustainable Flexible Packaging & Label Production”. BOBST announced details of the event from Mex, Switzerland, on October 2, 2026.

Participating suppliers included Sun Chemical, Aisa, Esko, Brückner Maschinenbau and Rossini, alongside BOBST. Their presentations addressed different stages of the packaging value chain, from film production and materials to printing, converting and production workflows.

Discussions focused on converters’ requirements for higher productivity, consistent quality, cost optimisation and more flexible production, alongside growing sustainability expectations and changing market demands.

“Algerian converters are increasingly looking for technologies that combine productivity, sustainability and flexibility. This is creating strong opportunities for innovation across both flexible packaging and labels,” said Manuel Cortizo, Region Sales & Marketing Director, BOBST Africa, Middle East and Turkey.

The programme covered film production, sustainable materials, digital prepress, flexographic and gravure printing, laminating, coating and vacuum metallizing. Label production, workflow automation and connectivity were also discussed.

BOBST presented technologies for flexible packaging and labels, including gravure and central impression flexographic printing, laminating, coating and vacuum metallizing. Discussions also covered digitalisation, automation and process optimisation through BOBST Connect.

Speakers examined the role of automation and connected production systems in reducing waste and improving operational efficiency. The event also provided opportunities for technology suppliers, converters, label producers and brand owners to discuss production challenges.

The roadshow combined technical presentations with industry dialogue, addressing the production and sustainability priorities outlined during the discussions within Algeria’s packaging industry.
